Fee increase at the Department of Real Estate

Published by admin on June 22,2009

Many of you have been wondering under what circumstances the fee increase will apply. Here is a response from a high ranking employee at the Department of Real Estate:

"Even though someone paid a license fee with a combo app before July 1, 2009, if the exam is not passed prior to July 1, 2009, they have not qualified for the license yet, thus they would be subject to the new fee before the license can be issued.

Since a combo applicant who files prior to July 1, 2009, actually gets scheduled into some date into the future-i.e. the service is performed prior to July 1, 2009, the lower exam fee is appropriate. If they pass after July 1, 2009, we would not go back and collect the higher exam fee. If they have to re-exam after July 1, 2009, they need to pay the new exam fee."

A copy of new fees can be found here.
