I have a morning ritual that I usually go through before I come into the office. Part of that constitutes reading either the paper or a trade journal. This morning I was reading today's Wall Street Journal and they had an entire section devoted to the concept of entrepreneurship.
There's an article by Kelly Spors on the front page of this section entitled "So, you want to be an entrepreneur?" While reading this, I couldn't help but make the connection between some things that the article said were required to be a successful entrepreneur and success as a real estate salesperson.
Here are a few:
1. How persuasive and well-spoken are you?
2. Are you a self-starter?
3. Do you like all aspects of running a business?
4. Are you willing to bear financial risk?
Someone once said that real estate sales is the highest paid hard work and the lowest paid easy work there is. They just might be right.
